Perlin Cat

Ken Perlin is a computer scientist and a pioneer in the field of computer graphics and animation. He is best known for developing Perlin noise, a gradient noise function that has been widely used to create natural-looking textures and animations in computer graphics. His work has had a significant impact on various domains, including visual effects in films and video games.

I asked for a cat shape, and my vibe coding tool decided to create the shape below with Perlin noise embossed on it. Instead of the sleek elegance characteristic of a cat, the design evokes a cuddly, robust presence typical of a bear. This divergence from my original request highlights the unpredictability of generative design, where outcomes sometimes take unexpected directions, leading to new interpretations and ideas.
